    • Synopsis
    • Based on the real-life events of rap artist Mischa DDB in Balmain, Sydney. Mischa is a good kid with a loving family but life can be cruel.

At the age of ten, Mischa's dad, Michael, struggles with drugs and finances and takes the easy way out - suicide. Leaving his mother Oumani behind to raise Mischa on her own.

Tragedy strikes again when Mischa is 12-years-old, his mum finds out she has Ovarian cancer with not long to live. Despite the best efforts by doctors, Mani passes away leaving Mischa an orphan. He goes to live with his grandma, Netti. Alone and in her early seventies in a council flat Netti struggles to provide parental guidance to Mischa.

Having a flair for writing and performing rap lyrics, Mischa finds solitude in performing for his “adopted family”, an assortment of well-off kids with rich parents, druggies, emos, and drug dealers.

As Mischa goes through puberty, life continues to be challenging with run-ins with the cops, various detention centers, overdoses, robberies, street fights, relationship dramas, and the death of Netti.

Every day is as difficult as the next. Constantly haunted by the death of his mother and father, Mischa overcomes life’s obstacles through performing. He sets his sights on one day becoming a recording artist - if he can survive.
