- Four septuagenarians:
  a newly-widowed alcoholic, a radical freedom-fighter, a loving mother, and a free-spirited housewife; find their existence in an old age home untenable. They leave, but quickly discover that present-day South Africa has no use for these relics of an unsavory past. On their journey they force others to confront the past and they search for a new future.
