    • Synopsis
    • Almost fifty years ago, when she was very young and unknown, Mercedes Sosa broke the mould by drafting, together with other four young artists, the so-called "Manifiesto del Nuevo Cancionero" (The new songbook manifesto). These new singers and songwriters never imagined that the seeds they had sown in the little city of Guaymayén, Argentina, would give rise to the greatest political and ideological movement in the American continent. From Argentina to Cuba, from Ecuador to Brazil, from Chile to Venezuela, Colombia, Uruguay, Perú, México and then Spain, France, Germany, Israel and the rest of the world.
