    • Steve McCurry is the photographer of the Afghan Girl and many other iconic pictures. Over the past four decades, his magnetic flair for poignant subjects has led him to countless countries to capture vanishing cultures, modern conflicts and humanity in all its strength and vulnerability.McCurry has become one of the greatest photographers of our era. He has been a member of Magnum Photos since the late eighties, 2.4 million fans follow him on Instagram and he has been awarded more than 30 of the most prestigious photography prizes, including the Robert Capa Gold Medal, and two World Press Photo awards. Yet entering hell-like landscapes of war and empathizing with its victims is more than a profession, it resonates within him. Only a tough man with a bleeding heart will risk his health, or even his life, to capture the boundless beauty and contradictions of the human condition.
