- Synopsis
- We are in the year 2045. Uruguay is practically the same as it is today, except for a single and enormous difference, the consumption of yerba mate was prohibited.
  
  Moncho and Fico are two illegal sellers of yerba, who travel the fields and towns, making their customers get the precious infusion, who decide to leave everything behind, skip middlemen, and go to Paraguay to bring seeds of yerba and return the mate to their village.
  
  Mateína is an absurd comedy that combines elements of popular culture and folklore of the South, with an entertaining history of adventure, friendship and dreams.
