    • Synopsis
    • In the past decade, “Masameer” has established itself as an iconic animation that takes a witty look at Saudi society. One of the most successful series across the Middle East, it has now been adapted into a hotly anticipated motion picture. In two storylines, new characters are introduced, alongside those we have come to know and love. Danah, a Saudi girl with a knack for robots, tries to use her skills for the good of humanity. Saad, Saltooh, and Kalb hit rock bottom after losing their home. Deciding to set out on an adventure, they hope to prove their worth to society. “Masameer” addresses the quirks of Saudi society, charting its idiosyncrasies and vagaries. It identifies the things that annoy us most, encouraging us to turn them to our own benefit. Director Malik Najer is one of Saudi Arabia’s top cartoonists. He produced the film with Myrkott Studio, which he founded with other Saudi artists, and producer Abdulaziz Almuzaini.
