    • Synopsis
    • “Mary Magdalene in conversation with Lilian Broca” documentary is an in-depth review of Lilian’s mosaic art while in the process of shining new light on the story of Mary Magdalene who is acting as her muse in the studio. A revelatory dialogue between the two women becomes an affirmation to the need to reconsider the importance of this much maligned and marginalized biblical figure over the centuries. Through the symbolism used by the artist in her 7 monumental panels, which become pages of Illuminated Manuscripts, the viewer is able to recreate alternate scenarios resulting from her relationship with Jesus, one of them being the 7 ancient tongues used as text on the panels; these suggest the multiple story versions of Mary available today.
