- Synopsis
- "Maria" is a road movie that crosses ages and continents in search of a character who has been invisible throughout his life. Peasant, northeastern, clandestine, Maria had several names. It was actually many.
  In this documentary-essay, the protagonist is a victim of time and her political position. Her trajectory is crossed by the stories of several other Marias, women who, like her, were active witnesses of the great moments of the last century. Among them, the German Olga Benário, former president Dilma Rousseff and former Rio de Janeiro councilor Marielle Franco stand out, murdered in March 2018.
  Among the unknown and the famous, Marias recognizes and celebrates the importance of the daily struggle of all women who manage to combine roles and choices, such as motherhood, work and militancy for a better world.
  In addition to the history of women, the feature film also confronts the current reality of Brazil and Russia with the utopias that moved generations.
