- Synopsis
- Up in the hills above Hollywood Boulevard lives FRANKIE (Maya Hawke) a young woman trying to discover who she really is. She knows she wants to do something of meaning but doesn’t know how. Stuck working as a bartender at a comedy club with her best friend and sometime-lover JAKE (Nat Wolff) Frankie questions what people today really value. When she encounters the mysterious LINK (Andrew Garfield), a man who seems to live life without rules, she is inspired to film him and upload his anti-commerce rants. With Jake onboard, this unlikely trio of outsiders quickly rises to internet stardom. But it’s hard to stay sane when the pressure of relevancy becomes all-important, and newly acquired manager MARK (Jason Schwartzman) starts making demands to bring in money. And to complicate things further, Frankie and Link are sleeping together. As she watches Link turn into the epitome of everything he once denounced Frankie is faced with the question - is she also becoming the monster she helped create?
