- Synopsis
- Brazil, XXI century. Climate crisis, wars, pandemics. An indigenous boy is born in an isolated village at the northern region of the Amazon rainforest. His mother and siblings believe that he is the reincarnation of Macunaíma, the spirit that created the world we live in. Seeking to understand his origins and mythical identity, the young indigenous man travels the world. The film is a contemporary and updated adaptation of Mario de Andrade’s classic book: a pop cultural adventure on the paths that formed the country and the world we currently live in.
