Synopsis
On the surface 'Lunatic at Large' is a classic thriller. Johnnie, the apparent murderer and escaped lunatic, lures away naïve Joyce who we fear will be his next victim. He claims to be Robert Anderson the owner of the Oldsmobile when stopped by the Traffic Cop. Joyce, seemingly sweet and innocent, turns out to be anything but. Is Lomax a genuine Detective? Certainly Mike and Gabe seem less than convinced. Mike himself is a cop in a jacket masquerading as a detective. Gabe is hiding a secret drink problem. No one is as they appear. Which brings us to the Carnival. The epicenter of all that’s false. Where mug punters are led astray by Tricksters and taken for all they’ve got. Everything there is fake. From the twisted barrels on the shooting range to the grossly exaggerated descriptions of the ‘freaks’. This is the world that shaped Johnnie and is what he’s kicking against. And this is the main thrust of our story. Nothing is as it seems.
