    • Synopsis
    • January 2009. Yoel 35, a reservist called up for the operation « Cast Lead » in the Gaza Strip returns to Tel Aviv for a 48 hours leave.
      His relationship with his wife Sigal has been withering for months. His departure for the front has acted that he had no more his place in their home, which they were in the process of leaving. While his fellow reservists go back to their families, Yoel after wandering in the deserted streets of Tel Aviv decides to take a room in a cheap hotel by the Seaside not far from his neighborhood.
      The next day, after Sigal has left their apartment, Yoel sneaks in looking for civilian clothes. There he became aware that Sigal is seeing another man, a doctor working in the same clinic. Yoel tries to reconnect with Sigal but she gave up waiting on him. Frustrated he tries to understand who is this doctor who took his place and make an appointment at the clinic. The doctor is married… but does not seem to get enough from life.
      The leave is over but Yoel does not make it to the military bus.. Estranged from his own life, he is now a deserter (AWOL). Returning to the hotel he finds there Alice a young French reporter who is unable to obtain an official permit to cover the war in the Gaza Strip, despite long wait at the Israeli army center. This was to be her big assignment with Patrice her boss and lover. Alice’s frustration is aggravated as it become clear that Patrice has dumped her and would not even return her calls. Out of desperation she recounts on video her own war filming the newscasts on TV from her hotel room.
      Alice tries to engage with Yoel who does not respond. She goes out to looking for troubles. Yoel feels he has to protect her and give her what she is looking for. Their bond help them adrift and accepting life with its violence and softness.
