- Synopsis
- “Lovers” is a daring and provocative journey through unbridled passion and the complexities of desire. The movie follows Jesus, 40, and Magdalena, 33, in a turmoil of love and lust. They decide to isolate hemselves from the world for a week in a remote cabi in the forest. They agreed to put away their cell phones and have no contact with their partners. Ana, Jesus' fiancée, discovers she is pregnant and unsuccessfully seeks him out to make a decision about whether or not to have the baby. David, Magdalena's husband, looks for her without finding her because Sebastian, her father, has died. Jesus and Magdalena look at their phones on the sly. Yet, despite the storms in their lives outside the hut, they decide to stay together.
  The intense physical and emotional attraction that unites the couple leads them to explore their physical and emotional limits. The visceral energy of “Lovers” captures the euphoria of unbridled eroticism in the midst of life, death and the devastation of loss. The story defies convention and shocks the viewer with a brave and sensory vision of the emotional and physical connection between its protagonists.
