- Synopsis
- Dating sucks especially; if you live in Canberra, the procrastination capital of Australia. Our hero Josh is a public servant grade 6, the lowest level for a clerk. Everyone likes Josh because he is handsome, self assured and not too ambitious. He doesn’t have a care in the world or so he thinks until Friday morning before work Josh meets with his ex-girlfriend Kate to tell her that he is moving in with his new girlfriend, Cathy. Kate is somewhat taken aback by Josh’s revelation and she becomes sentimental and reminisces about the good times they had together. Josh was confident that he had moved on from Kate, but seeing her stirs up memories and emotions that he can’t explain. He becomes obsessed with getting her back. He begs his best friend Tessa to lie for him at work while he chases after Kate. In the mall Josh bumps into his new girlfriend Cathy outside a massage parlour; he quickly makes up an excuse as to why he is not at work. They arrange to meet for lunch.
  Josh confronts Kate outside her office. Kate has moved on but Josh can’t. His chase leads him into an amateur Shakespeare in the Park production of Hip Hop Hamlet. The actors enlist Josh as Hamlet and draw him out of his comfort zone. Josh is surprised at his success on the stage. Lunchtime; at the Sour Cherry café Josh’s new girlfriend Cathy, waits for him. Next to her is Tessa who introduces herself and tells her that Josh is seeing Kate. Cathy takes this the wrong way and later when Cathy meets Josh she accuses him of having an affair with Kate and dumps him. The day gets worse when Josh is caught skipping work by his boss. Then when Josh reveals that Tessa lied for him, he almost gets Tessa fired as well. Furious at his indiscretion Tessa confronts him with some home truths about his lack of commitment before she also walks out on him.
  Forced to look deep inside his heart, Josh must decide which woman he truly loves.
