    • Synopsis
    • 1968, before Tet, South Vietnam, a squad of combat Rangers prepare for leave. Reese and Ian, professional soldiers, have fallen in love with each other in the intimacy of combat, personal trauma and survival having faced continual combat near the Demilitarized Zone. Reese shows signs of PTSD and fear of exposure of his sexual orientation to his superiors. Their relationship is an open secret to their squad, some of whom accept and some reject. The other members of the squad have more important issues than this gay couple: their own survival. Just before the Tet holiday, the squad's leave is abruptly canceled with a mission to kidnap a village official thought to be a Viet Cong operative. With this mission comes a new officer, Captain Heinrick, a student of Asian culture with a traumatic secret of his own. Heinrick changes the mission of abduction to assassinating the Viet Cong agent which challenges each of the squad members to decide what is acceptable behavior in war.
