    • Synopsis
    • After the untimely death of his mother, Louis is left in the care of his ailing grandparents hundreds of miles away in New Mexico. But, before he can board a bus to join his grandparents, a desperate small time crook, John, kidnaps Louis and holds him for ransom from his only remaining family.
In order to fund his ill-planned scheme and deliver Louis to his grandparents, John makes Louis an unlikely partner in a series of armed robberies across Texas and New Mexico. These complete strangers quickly become outlaws and reluctant friends. And John finds that the deception and betrayal of Louis’ trust is more difficult than he ever thought it would be.
John and Louis’ journey takes them from the oil derricks and sand dunes of Texas to the foothills of Sangre de Cristo Mountains in New Mexico. Along the way, they meet Mary and Rose - a mother and daughter looking for a ride and a little bit of romance. However, when John and Mary’s fleeting relationship sours and an ill-planned robbery goes horribly awry, John must decide if life on the run is a life worth living.
