    • Synopsis
    • After twenty years, Julieta (48) returns to her hometown to read her father's will. Upon discovering that he left control of the family's old porn theatre, Cine Astro, over to her and not to her sister Gilda (51), Julieta is forced to open old wounds and deal with her renegade past.
Gilda, who had been side by side with her father until his death, had been in charge of Cine Astro and loves the place. Julieta, on the other hand, thinks it's awful, the customers are disgusting and she doesn't feel connected to it in any way. She also realises that the cinema and surrounding neighbourhood are falling apart and that they are heavily in debt with the bank. When a real estate developer offers money to buy the movie theatre and transform it into a brand new office building, the sisters' desires clash: Julieta sees an opportunity to get rid of the cinema, while Gilda does not want to sell it at all.
Pressured by the developer, Julieta secretly signs a Term of Purchase and Sale in which she agrees to sell the movie theatre and accepts a small sum of money as a down payment. In contrast, Gilda starts coming up with increasingly eccentric ideas to try to save the cinema. By inviting her neighbours, who are under threat of gentrification by the same developer, to occupy Cine Astro and help her, Gilda helps them improve their lives, reigniting solidarity within the community. Meanwhile, Julieta gets more involved with the daily life of the cinema, revisiting places and childhood friends. An unexpected friendship with a local hustler named Manuel helps Julieta bond with her neighbourhood.
In the end, the truth comes out about Julieta’s pre-deal with the enemy, and the sisters fight. Julieta tries to redeem herself and back out of the sale, but she can't. However, they both realise something has already changed: together with the locals, Cine Astro has transformed into a place of meeting and community, giving hope to everyone in the neighbourhood and tools for them to fight for the place where they live.
