- How does a Hungarian scientist beaten almost to his death help Yuri Gagarin who is floating in space? Is there a way out of the clutches of a sexually overheated Nazi prison warden? Can a mother who killed her child be forgiven? Is there an escape from the toxicity of loneliness caused by an apocalypse that will destroy our civilization in the near future?
  Prison is one of the cruelest inventions in human history. There aren’t many punishments more terrible for the human being than being locked up within four grey, concrete walls. Freedom is greatly valued by every human society but each of them ruthlessly takes it away from those who commit a crime. But what is sin really? Who are the real criminals?
  Locked Up Secrets shows through eight human stories how the definition of sin and innocence changed in the very same prison cell over 200 years, from the middle of the 19th century to the near future. In the whirlwind of history the political powers have toyed with the concept of sin and human life like a cat and mouse game. The cold-hearted murderers of the Habsburg Empire, the Hungarian henchmen of Hitler's Germany, and the pawns of the Soviets occupying Central Europe mercilessly tried to break up the strongest of human bonds: brotherly love, the unifying power of love, and the unquenchable curiosity of science. However, it’s not only politics that can mercilessly destroy human lives but human weakness as well. A lover fooled who takes ruthless revenge on the love of his life. A greedy mafia boss for whom human life means nothing. A friend who’ll do anything to avoid being sentenced for a heinous murder. A mother who’s worn down by the struggle with a fatal disease. A father who deliberately imprisons his family in a post-apocalyptic future because he is so terrified of the outside world.
  In the episodes of Locked Up Secrets the human desire for freedom clashes into the unyielding walls of prison. But only those don’t have a chance for freedom whose desire for it has already been snuffed out.
