    • After Eugene Brown (Cuba Gooding Jr.) has served his 20-year sentence, he has to find a job, even though he understands that nobody wants to hire an ex-convict. Finally, he takes a job as a cleaner at a school in Washington D.C. on. One day, when a teacher asks him to permanently represent a teacher, he decides to teach chess to the students. He himself learned everything about the royal game during his time in prison and hopes that the students can also get excited about it. In particular, the young Tahime (Malcolm M. Mays) seems to have great talent for the game and the more it bothers Eugene to see that this drifts away from the school more and more into criminal business. The slaughter teacher then decides to found the Big Chair Chess Club and hopes to get the young people off the streets.
