    • Synopsis
    • 22-year old Laura arrives in LA trying to get away from her over bearing mother and start a new life. Upon arrival, she meets her distant cousin, Mario, whom she’s surprised to find in a wheelchair, paralyzed. She also meets his lovely and caring wife Stella, who showers Laura with gifts and becomes a sounding board for her relationship with her mother. Laura immediately finds comfort in her friendship with Stella while her relationship with her mother continues to deteriorate over their skype calls.

Stella tells Laura she has free reign of the house, except for the second floor. She is not to go upstairs since it is Stella’s and Mario’s sanctuary. Laura starts to hear strange noises coming from the second floor, and one night she is startled by the sound of screaming and thrashing. The next morning, Laura asks Stella about the noises, but Stella denies anything out of the ordinary. On the first opportunity, Laura ventures up to the second floor.

That night, when the strange sounds and screams start again, Laura decides to go upstairs to investigate. This time, she discovers Stella and Mario engaging in what looks like hardcore bondage play. When Laura tries to get in touch with her mother to ask her advice, she discovers Stella is already a step ahead of her and has contacted her mother telling her that Laura has been acting erratically. Laura’s mother believes Laura has been lying to her and is manipulating her. Laura feels hopeless and in an attempt to uncover Stella’s lies, she falls deeper into a dangerous path as she unravels a series of Stella’s dark and scary secrets. When Laura is ready to contact her mother with hard evidence, all lights go out in the house as a plastic bag goes over Laura’s head suffocating her until she loses consciousness.

Next morning, Laura wakes up paralyzed sitting next to Mario in his wheelchair.

NOW, LAURA HAS NO OPTION BUT TO FIGHT FOR HER LIFE.
