- LaRoy is a dark comedy about a small-town crime gone wrong. After discovering that his wife is cheating on him, Ray decides to end his own life. But when a stranger mistakes him for a hired killer, Ray sees a chance to finally earn a little respect. He takes the job but quickly finds himself in over his head. When some money belonging to the dead man missing, Ray is blamed, and soon everyone comes looking. With his wife growing suspicious and the police closing in, Ray is desperate to find the cash and get himself untangled. He runs into Skip, a former classmate and current down-on-his-luck private detective. When Skip learns about his old friend’s predicament, he blackmails Ray into letting him help in the investigation. The two men begin searching for the missing money and for the truth about who really hired Ray and why.
