- Synopsis
- Melanie, aged 10, has a gift for the piano. She tries to get into the Conservatory but fails her audition, deeply unsettled by the dismissive and negative attitude of the head of the jury, a well-known woman pianist. Melanie is hugely disappointed and gives up the instrument altogether. Ten years later, Melanie takes an office job in a large company run by Mr. Fouchécourt, the husband of the head of the jury who caused Melanie to drop the piano. Impressed by Melanie’s sense of organization and commitment, Mr. Fouchécourt soon asks her to babysit his son. The meeting with Mrs. Fouchécourt, now a famous international pianist, goes swimmingly. Melanie reveals her knowledge of music and becomes her personal page-turner…
