- Synopsis
- Young soviet poet after returning from studies in Soviet metrapolis Moscow to Soviet province Latvia faces the stagnation and as the premonition to other free-minded is captured and doomed for 7 years in Gulag. But, in oposit of KGB plans, he returns from Camp even more creative and undesirable to the existing system. And he keeps being like this till today.
  Knutifiction – a process of learning, metamorphosis, provokes to review one’s own existence and being in this world through the prism of the Zeitgeist and privat life story of the Latvian poet Knuts Skujenieks. The film ironicaly reveals the eternal struggle of a strong personality’s coming to terms with the society and system, where Knuts is not a one aiming to change the system, but is rather a micro rebel in his own inner world. The storyteller and protagonist of this film Knuts Skujenieks is a well known and highly appreciated but also very "young" in his thoughts, Latvian poet, however, Knutification is not as much his biography, as it is a biography of his thoughts about his past, the system he has lived in and and the system he is experiencing now.
