    • Synopsis
    • Karetabla is an animated sitcom for young adults that mixes elements of black comedy, science fiction and social satire to explore the stories of chaos within another chaos: the transition to adulthood in the middle of a city that is in permanent self-destruction.
Karetabla follows the lives of four young Venezuelans while trying to fulfill normal tasks of adult life, but suddenly they fall into these hyperbolic leaps where the mundane violently becomes bizarre.
The world of Karetabla is a Caracas in an alternative universe, where an accident in the nuclear reactor of "Los Altos de Pipe" in the 80s caused strange random transmutations in part of the population of the city for generations. Thus, for example, our characters are neighbors of Fredery, a bodybuilder with a body of ice cream, or have fleeting encounters with a peanut-shaped Bolivar impersonator.
The city itself is falling apart but somehow every day it remains the same. There the normal laws of physics work but abnormal social norms.
As there is something extreme happening at all times, its citizens are accustomed and numb and tends to follow their day as usual.
