    • Synopsis
    • One upon a time, in TIMGAD, an Algerian village at the feet of the Aurès Mountains, while the men of the village are gather in the mosque to share couscous, Mokhtar, the teacher of the village, pours a powerful aphrodisiac in the sauce. Nine months later, all the women give birth, the very same night.
      Twelve years later, eleven boys and one girl, are sat in the classroom facing Mokhtar. Hooked on soccer, Mokhtar takes part with his pupils to the junior soccer championship. To win this competition would qualify them for the Great Mediterranean Junior Soccer Tournament in Marseilles. Mokhtar’s team wear colourful plastic sandals, but is proudly called “The Juventus of Timgad”. The most feared opponent is the Réal of Batna, coached by Achour, a rich businessman, up to anything to win.
      The village adopts Jamel, a French-Arab, on an archaeological mission. When he learns Jamel has played soccer in France at a semi-professional level, Mokhtar promptly appoints him coach and finally convinces Larbi, the grocer to sponsor the team.
      Coached by Jamel who has coordinated the team to highlight the skills of little Karim, a soccer whiz kid, the Juve wins one game after another.
      When a tragedy happens: Karim, their best player and his whole family disappear from the village.
