- Synopsis
- Antwerp, 1959. JACK, a high-talented tenor saxophonist, is forced to work at the docks to
  earn a living. His dream is to go to New York, Mecca of jazz, to meet his idols, the great
  African-American musicians. To make his dream come true, he needs money.
  JACK’s band,the Bop Friends, plays in depressing tea rooms or in MICKEY BUNNER’s big band. ANDRE,
  JACK’s sculptor friend, whose avant-garde experiments earn him his neighbours wrath and
  the content of the academy, meets Lucy and sets out to conquer her. However, LUCY is crazy
  about JACK.
  JACK and LUCY fall in love, but JACK has only one thought, one wish, the
  same and unfulfilled: New York, its music scene, its legendary musicians. Where will he find
  the dollars he so desesperately needs?
