- A captivating look inside the adrenalin-fueled world of competitive Jump Rope. Part extreme sport and part art form, this former backyard childhood pastime has risen to another level entirely in which it has taken on a high stakes, competitive edge. The film follows a racially and economically diverse group of teenagers as they strive for victory at the U.S. National Amateur Jump Rope competition. These kids push physical and psychological limits while coming of age and learning unexpected lessons along the way that will change their lives forever. The skill and athleticism exhibited by these kids is jaw-dropping – you will find it hard to turn away from their unique display of acrobatics and creativity. The recent announcement by the Walt Disney Company that it has developed a feature film on this world came as no surprise to me, nor that ‘Jump In’, Disney’s feature film on this world, was the Disney Channel’s most-watched telecast ever. This sport is HOT.
