Ambitious 20-year-old Jessica moves from a small town in Sweden to Los Angeles for a shot at a career in the adult industry. She shares a house with three other girls in the same profession. They are still in the amateur teen category but Jessica’s goal is to “reclaim the slut” and become a contracted girl, a real porn star. It’s a bumpy ride as Jessica learns to push her limits, both sexually and personally, to reach her goals. She experiences how it feels to be wanted, desired, and part of a special tribe. She gets hurt but also conquers self-esteem, as the one does not exclude the other. Catering to the wants and needs of men allows Jessica to advancein her career. Ultimately though, Jessica faces a dilemma: To keep playing by the rules of the male network or to choose solidarity with her female colleagues. “Jessica” is an intimate and surprisingly humorous portrait of the conflicts inherent in being a woman in an industry where your youth, body and submission are your primary assets. We get to see the everyday grind of the porn industry, to meet the people behind the stereotypes and find out what goes down in-between takes.
