    • Synopsis
    • Jason Reitman’s Live Read returns to the Festival for another all-star event featuring a surprise cast. The Montreal-born filmmaker (Ghostbusters: Afterlife; Men, Women & Children; Up in the Air) assembles this year’s cast for a surprise screenplay in honour of his father, Ivan Reitman. The Live Read is a unique event in which classic movie scripts are read by contemporary actors. A beloved classic is presented to audiences in a one-take read-through with Reitman narrating stage direction. TIFF has previously welcomed Reitman and an array of talent for live table reads of Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights (featuring Jesse Eisenberg, Josh Brolin, Olivia Wilde, among many others), Alan Ball’s American Beauty (Bryan Cranston, Christina Hendricks, Adam Driver), John Hughes’ The Breakfast Club (Hendricks, Aaron Paul, Richard E. Grant), and William Goldman’s The Princess Bride (Cary Elwes, Rachel McAdams, Chris O’Dowd).
