    • Synopsis
    • Sofie and Daan (33) are fraternal twins, they look alike, but they have vastly different personalities: Sofie is a control freak, her job is her life. Daan is a free spirit, who loves to please people. The sisters have been raised by their two gay fathers in Amsterdam.
One day, they receive a phone call from the U.S.: Their biological mother Jackie, who they have never known, is in the hospital. With a broken leg and in cast from her hip to her toes, Jackie will depend on help for a while. As the girls seem to be her only relatives, it is up to them to decide what will happen to her.
The sisters travel to the U.S., not knowing what and especially who awaits them. Reality is disappointing: Jackie is a stern woman who doesn’t say a word and, as it seems, has no interest in her daughters.
To cure her leg, Jackie has to get to a rehabilitation centre which is located 800 miles away. As she suffers from a broken eardrum and refuses to leave her old and shabby RV behind, they have no choice but to drive this eccentric piece of junk through the desert of New Mexico.
It is the start of an adventurous journey filled with confrontations, challenges and surprises...
