For over six years Ingrid Betancourt was one of the most famous hostages in the world. Kidnapped in Colombia by Marxist guerrillas of the FARC (The Revolutionary Armed Forces), she was released in 2008 in an audacious rescue operation, together with 15 other hostages. In an exclusive documentary interview she sheds light on her experience and on the meaning of being denied your freedom; awaiting your rescue or death. The film takes us along rivers and thick jungle to confront the past events through extensive interviews and unique archives including FARC footage from the jungle and material shot during the rescue operation.
