Chae-geun works for a designated driver service in Seoul, while his only son lives in the US. One day, Jin-hee, the owner of a restaurant where he is a regular, bemoans her dying father and his yet-unfulfilled wish to see her married. Before long, the discussion leads to her asking him to pose as her boyfriend for a little while, to which Chae-geun agrees reluctantly. Upon meeting the father, the latter takes advantage of a moment when he is alone with Chae-geun to show him a gun that was used in the brutal repression of the 1980 pro-democracy mass protest in Gwangju. The old man explains that he stole it and has kept it hidden all this time with the hope that one day he could give the perpetrators, who still run free, a taste of their own medicine. As he finally passes away before he could carry out his scheme,Chae-geun decides to pick up the plan where he left it.
