- Synopsis
- As a physician at local clinic, Dr. Ichito Kurihara has no days to call his own with the heavy patient visits and shortage of doctors on call. Diagnosing even patients out of his specialty, and working long hours without sleep, Ichito is drawn to a position at a major general hospital. The job will provide time for his family along with an opportunity to heighten his skill as a physician. Yet, his days linger on at the clinic from his reluctance to leave his patients with one less doctor to look after them.
  While he is on call, one of his long term patient with terminal cancer dies. As he is clearing out her belongings, Ichito finds a letter addressed to him, thanking his care even when he could not free her of her sufferings. It is then he realizes that the medical chart in his hand, which he keeps in somewhat unorthodox way filled with personal observation and kind concerns may be a treatment worth pursuing.
