    • Synopsis
    • SILVIU (18) has spent his last 4 years in a juvenile prison. Smart, charming, but totally unpredictable and impulsive, he slowly gained the respect of the inmates.
He is two weeks away from being released before love comes his way.
Silviu gets disturbing news: his long-gone mother returned home from Italy and wants to take his younger brother away. Silviu is shocked, but contains himself. Still, he refuses to see his mother.
Realizing he might be in danger of losing the one he loves the most, namely his brother, Silviu calls his mother and accepts to meet her.
A group of sociology students come to the penitentiary for a study on juvenile delinquency. Among them there is Ana (18 years old), a very beautiful and delicate young girl.
After 4 years behind bars, Ana is the first girl Silviu sees and he immediately tries to hit on her.
Silviu confesses his dream to his only friend: he wants to marry Ana and make love with her, the stars looking down on them.
The mother arrives. Embarrassing silence, uneasiness. She came to tell Silviu she plans to take his little brother with her to Italy, so he will not end up in jail like Silviu. “We are living this week.” says the mother.
Overwhelmed, Silviu has the most unpredictable reaction: he savagely hits one of the guards and takes Ana hostage. Negotiations with the administration follow. Silviu requests that they get his mother at the penitentiary. When she arrives, he forces her to swear that she would not take his little brother back to Italy with her. Now his only thought left is Ana:”I’m gonna go get a cup of coffee with her. I want a car!”
Eventually, the warden brings a car, open the gates and the impossible happens.
Full speed, wind, open eyes. Liberty. It seems too good to be true, and Silviu knows it. A small coffee shop for truckers. Silviu and Ana drinking coffee. Silence. All of a sudden he kisses her. It seems like the most natural gesture in the world. Silviu smiles, stands up and heads for the exit. He reaches the parking lot. As naturally as possible, as if he had all the time in the world, he strolls toward the highway. He meets the special troops from the penitentiary which had taken of to catch him and bring him back. He goes towards them. He doesn’t fight back. He just lets go.
