In order to pursue her burning passion to write, Juana finds no other solution during this époque than to enter the Convent, where her thirst for knowledge, her expansiveness of thought and her striking beauty afford her the protection of the Viceroy (and the close friendship of the Vice-reine), which allow her to devote herself to writing. But such a personality, so unusual and provocative to the unforgiving Inquisition, inevitably leads her into conflict with the Church, as well as with the State
