- Synopsis
- This is animation feature film based on a true 1200km adventure story by the young Hippo from Zululand. Huberta is the hippopotamus who enjoys a two and a half-year period of celebrity status set in the late twenties. The reason she becomes famous is that, unlike all other sociable hippos that stay with the herd and never consider a nomadic existence, Huberta is driven by uncontrollable situations to strike out on her own. She has a seldom friendship at first with a small fish, Zuko, with whom they travel beyond protected borders without realizing risk involved. Huberta’s curiosity leads her father to inform her about her future as she is the chosen hippo that will unit all cultures, different races, be famous and touch hearts to protect the future of the Hippo nation. Her grandfather once had a vision that one of his grand children is chosen from heavens to speak the hard language understood by human. Stomper knows that his daughter is the one but do not know when that prophecy would be fulfilled! One day while grazing at night, human attacks the hippo nation and many hippos die in the scene but Huberta manages to escape with the help of the flowing river. She set off from her home in Zululand and treks south. She is entirely alone, except for the reporters and sightseers who keep track of her progress, as nobody know why she is walking or where she is heading. Huberta's great trek makes headline news all over the world and becomes subject of a number of books. In her adventure, she meets lot of friends and enemies who hunts her for evil intentions. She travels pass Durban central and cause lot of trouble, reporters get a good story for their front pages, Indians regard her as mystical spirit, while some Zulus regard her as reincarnation of King Shaka.
