- Synopsis
- Meet Joey, an aspiring writer with terrible luck. After every publisher tells him he needs to be a hot commodity in order to get a book deal, he secures a job at Spimble, a digital publication focused on clickbait. One night after a demoralizing date with a wealthy narcissist named Gus, Joey writes about his hellish experience. The article becomes a viral sensation, and Joey, having found his new brand, decides to seek punishment at every turn, continually going viral, building his audience, and getting closer to achieving his dream of literary glory. But Gus wants revenge. He sets out to ruin Joey’s lucky streak of bad luck, anonymously fixing Joey's woes one after the next. Joey is losing control. Can he restore his Eeyore image? Will he unmask his generous life-ruiner? Or will he let good fortune and happiness prevail?
