    • Synopsis
    • Directed by Sonita Gale, Hostile exposes the impact of the UK’s ‘hostile environment’ — a series of UK government policies designed to make everyday life so unbearable for migrants in the UK, that they decide to leave the country or get deported.

This documentary is a rich and often harrowing exploration of the UK’s approach to immigration through the eyes of international students, members of the Windrush generation, so-called ‘highly-skilled migrants’ and community organisers. Giving a voice to the people directly affected by these issues, Hostile shows the real-life consequences for those trying to navigate their everyday lives in a hostile environment.
