Syahdu is a strong-willed woman with a heart of gold who lives with her mother and her sister, Ratih. On the way to her grandfather’s house, she meets Ifand Abdussalam, a religious, smart and open-minded young man who happens to live in the same area. Overtime, Syahdu and Ifand become closer much to the dismay of Sofia, a young religious woman of the same village who has a crush on Ifand. As Ifand and Syahdu become close, the people in the very traditional village begin to gossip about their relationship. Back at home Syahdu faces an impossible situation. Her mother who has been sick along time becomes critical and requires surgery they can’t affort. Syahdu’s ex-boyfriend hears and offers Syahdu money for the surgery in return for marrying him. With no other choice, Syahdu accepts. Ifand hears of Syahdu’s marriage and, feeling betrayed and angry, listens to his parents and marries Sofia. Meanwhile, Syahdu, abused by her husband and finally unable to deny her continued feelings for Ifand, decides to get a divorce. Syahdu becomes depressed, prone to illness. Feeling sorry for Syahdu her sister Ratih sends Ifand a letter. Sofia is a good wife, and touched by Ratih’s letters tells Ifand to visit Syahdu. And when Syahdu begins to get better, Sofia realizes that only Ifand can return her spirit, gives her consent for Ifand to marry Syahdu as well. How will Sofia and Syahdu fight their jealousy? How will Ifand manage his two wifes fairly? Will Syahdu recover her spirit?
