- Synopsis
- WINSTON, is a successful singer who's career is currently under fire because of a performance gone wrong. As if things couldn't get worse, he's summoned by his mother, MRS. PEYTON to return to Chicagoafter nearly twenty years. His estranged father, the revered BISHOP PEYTON is dead.
  Back home to Chicago everything looks the same, but everything has changed. Unlike the prodigal son, no one seems to care about his return, and he's viewed more like the "black sheep". Life has moved on but the relationships he left behind are strained. His mother while trying to put on a good face shows sign of weakness from the loss of her husband. The epitome of the "good son", his brother HENRY makes it clear that his presence is unwanted. Though the Bishop is no longer in the house, Winston is haunted by memories of his strict childhood and his last night in the house.
  Looking for an escape, Winston reunites with his best friend and former band member CLARENCE who now owns the night club where they were discovered as teenagers. But with that reunion comes an encounter with his former girlfriend ALLISON who sings and co-manages the club. Though she's engaged to be married, this doesn't stop Winston from looking for solace in what was familiar. But nothing goes well for Winston. The longer he stays, the more conflicted he feels about his presence in a place that no longer feels like home. So when presented with a chance to save his career, Winston must decide if saving his relationships are worth the sacrifice.
