    • Rika has just entered high school with her friend Yuko, and are looking for a school club to join when they are hailed by two recruiters for the school’s “Modern Cultural Studies Club.” They are Keigoand Tetsuo, two male upperclassmen. Rika is surprised to feel her heart start racing at the sight of Keigo, while Tetsuo falls in love with Yuko at first sight. Naturally, Rika and Yuko join the club. But Rika finds her burgeoning love for Keigo not reciprocated as she learns that he pines for another girl who has just graduated, Aoi. Rika also learns that Aoi already has a boyfriend, and he isn’t Keigo.

One day, Rika happens to catch Aoi and Keigo in the act of kissing. Rika corners Aoi and commands her to stay away from Keigo. Keigo sees this happen. But Rika later learns that Keigo has been rebuffed by Aoi. Emboldened by some alcohol she mistakenly drank, Rika asks Keigo to go out with her, and yet promises that if Aoi ever comes to like Keigo, she will resignedly step aside. So Keigo and Rika start dating. But one day, Aoi returns to the school for a career counseling event where both Keigo and Rika overhear her saying to another student that she has broken up with her boyfriend. The news runs through Keigo like an electric jolt, and Rika must square with the realization that Keigo’s true affections do not lie with her. But is it a case of miscommunication and mixed signals? With Keigo’s graduation day fast approaching, time is running out.
