- Synopsis
- “Herbaria” is a film about preservation work. Where people are just fragments: hands that collect and save, eyes that observe trying to understand what surrounds us. We look through a magnifying glass, a camera, a microscope while oblivion, abandonment and extinction threaten closely. A film that while recording the specimens, tasks and voices that exist around the herbariums, captures them forever.
  To become lost in the tasks of conservation allows us to weave an almost symbiotic relationship between the botanical and film universes. As if there were no discontinuity between one and the other and they shared everything: the delicacy of their manual art, the resistance of their method against the passage of time, the power of the image over the power of oblivion.
  The future of humanity rests on these people who try to preserve the beauty and memory of a world that insists on disappearing.
