    • Synopsis
    • Pistolero” (GUNMAN) is a fiction and, in a certain way, also an essay on human struggle and choices connecting the past with the present. The story follows the criminal raids of Isidoro Mendoza and his brother Claudio in the rural Argentina during the dictatorship of Onganía in 1967 and how their criminal deeds begin to make a dent on themselves.
A teacher from Buenos Aires arrives to Isidoro’s life, and love gifts him the possibility to open up himself to a new life, but even as he tries, he can not escape the irreversible disorder caused by his own drives and actions.

The film was shot in the rural Argentinean area of Lavalle, Province of Mendoza. The principal photography took place in the Huarpe Indigenous Native Reserve. Most of the side characters and extras are Huarpes, whilst the main roles were lead by award winning actors. “Pistolero” features the film debut of former boxing world champion Sergio “Maravilla” Martínez.

“Pistolero” is an independent film produced with the support of INCAA (Argentine Film Institute) and the Lavalle Municipality in the Province of Mendoza.
