    • Synopsis
    • AURORA, a woman in her late 30s, has just been released from jail. Working as a beauty salon hairdresser, she falls for her co-worker, GREICEKELLY, the salon owner's estranged, peroxide blonde 14-year-old daughter - back in town after being thrown out of her great aunt's house in a small town. At the girl's insistence, Aurora agrees to pose as her mother to help her win a beauty pageant that will select the most beautiful teenager of São Paulo’s famous Augusta Street, which is the heart of the Red Light District.

The first round of the pageant receives some press, attracting the attention of Aurora’s ex-husband, ANTENOR. He begins stalking the woman, and, in order to get closer to Aurora, befriends Greicekelly and her mother, SANDRA, a resentful and extremely religious woman. As Antenor slowly starts to manipulate Aurora’s life, we find out Aurora fell in love with Antenor’s teenage daughter, ÍSIS, whom she attacked in a jealous rage. Aurora turn herself to jail and never forgave herself for her crime.

When Aurora finds out ÍSIS killed herself while she was in jail, she feels even more guilty and decides not to repeat her past mistakes. She wants to save Greicekelly from any danger that may happen to the girl. She decides to leave São Paulo with Greicekelly but the girl’s plans to win the pageant only get more ambitious, including dreams of breast augmentation surgery. Aurora's jealousy starts to rise and after Greicekelly betrays her, Aurora unleashes her rage and frustration against Greicekelly, slashing the girl’s breasts.

With Antenor’s help she kidnaps the girl and hides her in his ranch, a place where she feels safe, as she believes he is the only person who can stop her, the one man who understands her violent nature. But is Antenor really willing to help Aurora or does he just want to destroy her with temptation?

While deciding what to do with Greicekelly, Aurora is visited by the ghost of Ísis, who says she forgives the woman: Antenor was the one responsible for her “suicide”. He actually cut the girls’ wrists, because he blamed her for driving Aurora away from his life. Aurora and Antenor have a final confrontation, in which Aurora discovers that what she truly needs is to fight her violent nature and accept her role as the mother Greicekelly never had. But at what cost?
