- Synopsis
- In a large slum called "Grande Sertão", located in a Brazilian outskirts, conflicts between the police and criminals escalated into a real war, raising epic questions about loyalty, life, death, love and courage. The narrator of the story is Riobaldo, a rehabilitated criminal. He turned to crime because of Diadorim, but he never had the courage to reveal his passions for a man. The narrative is inspired by the literaty work of Guimarães Rosa.
