GOZEN is the first of our new movie/theater series. This story is about a lord who organizes a match for his own amusement and calls eight swordsmen to his residence. The swordsmen have specific reasons for risking their lives and those dramas unfold in this movie and in a theater performance.

- Synopsis
- 　In the early 1600s, the repercussions of the Warring States Period is still being felt. The Shogun sends a spy, Rinnosuke Aoyama (played by Atsuhiro Inukai) to Fugetsu Domain. His mission is to infiltrate and ascertain if the domain's lord, Kainosho Mochizuki (Kazuki Namioka), is scheming against him. Rinnosuke learns that Shinzaburo Kamiya (Norimasa Fuke), Lord Mochizuki's Chief Official, has a classified document which proves that there is a scheme. Rinnosuke is hoping for an opportunity to meet Chief Official Kamiya when he visits a local festival where Kamiya happens to be. But fate takes a mysterious turn when Rinnosuke also encounters Yae (Mio Yuki), a girl that he instantly falls for. Later he learns that Yae is Kamiya's daughter.
  
  　Rinnosuke is on friendly terms with another spy, Kazuma Masaki (Yuki Kubota) who informs him that Yae is ill and won't live long. Rinnosuke is devastated by the news and throws himself into his work but then Yae finds out that he is a spy.
  
  　Yae is reluctantly engaged to one of Lord Mochizuki's retainers who is called Jinpachiro Terawaki (Kouhei Takeda). When the psychopathic Jinpachiro learns Rinnosuke's true identity, he threatens to expose him if he doesn't fight in the Gozen match. Little does Rinnosuke know that the Gozen match is Lord Mochizuki's scheme to expose spies and publicly execute them.
  
  　Oblivious to Lord Mochizuki's ulterior intentions, eight swordsmen from around the country gather to fight. Each has a story. Maverick Hayato Mochizuki (Hiroshi Yazaki) has the same family name as the evil lord. Cold-blooded Kyoshiro Nagare (Seiya Motoki) wields double swords. Kurand Yuki (Takahisa Maeyama) has eyes with red irises... As the eight swordsmen fight to death in the tournament, Rinnosuke must decide to die in duty or die for Yae. Only his special sword technique -- the dragon that cuts like a scythe -- knows the answer!
