    • Synopsis
    • Going back home follows the participant of a pioneer program in Valparaíso’s prison allowing inmates to go back home through VR experiences. In these experiences, the inmates help each other to create the best conditions in the prison to visit their families, while physically reacting as if they were at home. Ariel (20) has a terminally ill mother, Cueto (45) dreams of seeing his nieces again, Claudio (54) is an outsider who misses the sea and Franco (26) is desperate to finish his sentence and reunite with his son. Each of them has the opportunity to see the outside world, and the virtual reality experiences leave them feeling at home with their loved ones, connecting with their identities, as they fight to defend their human rights in the adversity of a violent and crowded prison. The last virtual reality experience they live is collective. The inmates react to these VR experiences physically, like a dance, in contrast to the cold walls of the prison that surrounded them.
