- Synopsis
- Richard Foster a famous American philanthropist and heir to one of the world's great industrial fortunes has just finished a talk show in Italy and comes upon a fiery carcrash. On the spot, he helps deliver an immigrant baby girl, whose mother dies in childbirth He decides to adopt the baby girl GAIA which little does he know will forever alter the course of his life and reshape his vision for his foundation, Global Harmony. Seven years later Richard has given most of his fortune away to his foundation making it his life's work to promote social justice for the world’s poor. He moves from New York with Gaia and his wife to the small Italian island of Lampedusa, the gateway for receiving refugee children from the African continent. Here on the island, Richard and his team create a school and spearhead other global initiatives for disadvantaged, underprivileged and abused African refugee children and lobbies the United Nations to come to Lampadusa with hopes to announce its cooperation with Richard’s foundation to break the cycle of poverty. Richard's vision goes against certain corrupt global corporate interests who would rather have these children working in child labor mining camps and they will do everything to stop him. This will have tragic consequences for his family and for the world if Richard lets them win.
