- Synopsis
- The only thing that Ryan knows about his dad is that he’s a ‘Paki’. He dreams of him coming back and kicking out his mum’s new boyfriend, Jason. When he discovers an injured man hiding out in a shipping container on the wasteland near his home, it's a dream come true. Or is it?
  
  Stealing food and bandages, he secretly nurses him back to health. Despite the language barrier a bond grows between them.
  
  The man is a deserter from the Syrian army who entered the country illegally. Suspected of terrorism, he’s on the run.
  
  Jason bullies Ryan constantly. He jokes that his dad is the ‘Paki’ the police are after. Ryan keeps silent. No one's going to put his dad in prison!
  
  Ryan discovers the man’s camp burnt out and realises its Jason’s doing. Frantically searching for him, he’s hit by a stolen car and left for dead.
  
  The man, barely alive himself, finds him. Picking him up, he carries him to safety.
  
  Ryan may not have a real dad, but he now knows what a real dad’s meant to be.
