    • Synopsis
    • It is modern day South Vietnam. Thien’s wife, Linh, just committed suicide by jumping off the rooftop. As he sits over her lifeless body, he recalls how he met her at his pawnshop.
Linh grew up in a small rural town with her two aunts who treat her poorly and control her life completely. Thien decides to marry her in order to provide her a better life. Their marriage starts out cordially but as Thien’s miserly ways tax his wife, and she seeks consolation at church. Thien follows his wife to reclaim her but Linh can then no longer bear living with him. While lying on their bed, Thien opens his eyes one evening and sees Linh standing over him with a revolver pointed at his temple. Is Thien's recollection trustworthy or are things other than what they seem?
